This film is an enchanting animated adventure for the whole family, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Maiden".

Little Gerda sets off on a long and dangerous journey to find her best friend Echo, who has suddenly disappeared. Traveling over snowy mountains and through mysterious forests, Gerda finds loyal friends: a goose, a horse, a reindeer and a kind witch. But she does not yet know that she is secretly being watched by the evil Snow Fairy and her helper - the grumpy elf Louis.

It turns out that the Snow Fairy has kidnapped Kaja and is holding her captive in her ice palace in the cold north of Norway. But that doesn't stop brave Gerda - together with her new friends, she heads north to save Kaja. They finally manage to escape and return home just in time to celebrate the most wonderful holiday of the year.
